Protesters refused to leave the Lupeni Mine

It is reported that 70 miners from the first work shift refused to leave the Lupeni Mine. The miners finished their work shift at noon but they decided to remain underground in protest.

As per report, another 200 miners from the second work shift refused to go underground, complaining that the wages dropped in September and that the production is low.

Mr Zoltan Lacatos, the leader of the League of Jiului Valley Miners’ Trade Unions, asked for an emergency meeting with economy minister Mr Adriean Videanu in order to talk about the problems miners are facing.
