It is reported that a derailment of 31 wagons has occurred on the RBCT coal line over the past weekend on 22nd January 2011 near Ulundi.

Cause for the derailment is known at this time.

The derailment has caused both lines between the mines and RBCT to be closed with no rail movements possible at the moment.

Indications are that the lines should be opened again on January 26th 2011 all going well. Of the 31 wagons that derailed +/- 21 wagons has been cleared so far this morning however there is also +/- 200 meter of rail line that got damaged and will need to be replaced.
