The Australian reported that Rio Tinto's Simandou iron ore JV with Aluminum Corporation of China in Guinea in West Africa is progressing solidly.

Mr Sam Walsh CEO of iron ore for Rio Tinto said that he was pleased that Mr Luo Jianchuan president of Chalco had taken part in a recent meeting in Paris with Rio Tinto, Guinea government officials and International Finance Corporation to help move the project along.
