Anlgo American's Moranbah North coal mine has suffered a roof collapse over its conveyor drift.
The Daily Mercury reports that all operations at the mine have been put on hold until the collapse can be cleared and the conveyor drift repaired.
According to an Anglo spokesperson, no one was injured in the incident which occurred last week.
CFMEU Mackay district vice president Mr Steve Pierce stated that a meeting is planned with the miner, union members and Mastermye the contractor on site.
Mr Pierce said that "It is my understanding at this stage that a roof has fallen in, which has created a safety issue for workers, and that no one is allowed down to the pit until the collapse has been cleared.”
He added that "Because the company is not able to produce, (Anglo American) has asked some employees to take their annual leave."
