Projects today reported that Singareni Collieries Company Limited has invited tenders from interested banks and financial institutions for financing the proposed 540 MW thermal power plant at Jaipur village & mandal in Adilabad district of Andhra Pradesh. The project is expected to entail an investment of INR 2,700 crore.

The debt and equity ratio of the project is 70:30. SCCL is expected to raise INR 800 crore through internal accruals, while the debt portion of the project cost is INR 1,900 crore. The loan repayment period is 3+10 years.

SCCL has obtained union Government and State Government approval and MoEF clearances. Unit I is expected to be completed in 36 months while Unit II is to be completed in 39 months.

Meanwhile, land acquisition, BTG procurement from BHEL and appointing of technical consultant is in process.

The last date of submission of EoIs is August 5th 2009.
