Singareni Collieries Co Ltd is introducing Asia's biggest Longwall project with an annual production capacity of 2.81 million tonnes in Adriyala project, Ramagundam, as part of its efforts to enhance underground coal production.

Another Longwall project with production capacity of 2.7 million tonnes is also being introduced in Kakatiyakhani.

The company produces 50 million tonne of coal, out of which 24% is from underground mines, as against 11% in the country. It has introduced bulk handling techniques such as Longwall, blasting gallery and continuous miner system.

It achieved a record production of 66,229 tonnes in a single month in December, 2010 at its Godavrikhani facility.
