Factory Maintenance reported that Sedgman has won a USD 9 million contract to upgrade the Sonoma coal processing plant.
According to Sedgman, it will design, construct and commission the plant upgrade, which will improve the facility’s efficiency, performance and yield. The upgrade is due to be complete in the H2 of 2009.
The Sonoma facility is owned by a JV between Q Coal, Cliffs Natural Resources, JFE Shoji, China Steel and Watami Trading.
Sedgman said that it won the contract due to its successful delivery of the original coal handling and processing plant at Sonoma.
