
China Knowledge reported that Shaanxi Province produced 41.18 million tonnes of raw coal in January and February 2010, 21.31 million tonnes or 107.25% YoY more than in the same period of last year, and the output of the state owned collieries was 34.03 million tonnes, an amount 3.33 times what they produced a year ago.
In the first 2 months of 2010, the province sold a total of 40 million tonnes of coal, 20.97 million tonnes more than it sold in January and February of 2009. State owned collieries' sales skyrocketed 249.99% year on year, hitting 33.12 million tonnes.
As of February 28th 2010, Shaanxi's stored coal was 2.72 million tonnes, up by 803,000 tonnes from a year earlier.
Shanxi Province, another region of China that has abundant coal, aims to yield between 700 million tonnes and 800 million tonnes of coal this year, or at most 30% more than in 2009.
