
Shandong shuts down all township coal mines
Shandong Administration of Coal Industry that local coal mines in East China Shandong, comprising one third of the total coal output in the province has bid farewell to village and town run models.
The province has further straightened out operation system of mines and speeding up coal resources. In 2009, Shandong cut its number of local mines to 168 producing 41.60 million tonnes of raw coal, accounting for 29.7% of the total output in the province.
