It is reported that Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group a subsidiary of China’s top coal producer Shenhua Group has officially started construction for a large-sized coal mine in the northern autonomous region of Inner Mongolia recently.

Yingjun No1 Pit which kicked off construction on October 18 is expected to reach an annual production capacity of 6 million tonnes, according to Shenhua Ningxia Coal. The coal produced will mainly supply power plants and coal chemical enterprises in Shanghaimiao energy and chemical base.

Located in the South Eastern part of Shanghaimiao mining area, the mine covers an area of 93.89 square kilometres and boasts 1.46 billion tonnes of geological reserves. Yingjun No.1 Pit will be developed by Weihua Mining Company, a joint venture between Shenhua Ningxia Coal Industry Group and China Tobacco Company established in September 2010.
