The Australian Financial Review reported that China Shenhua Energy Co is studying the coal haulage operations of Australia’s Asciano Group.

The Review said, without saying where it got the information that Morgan Stanley is advising Shenhua on the possible transaction, with the assets struggling to find a buyer. ABN Amro Holding NV and Lazard Carnegie Wylie Ltd has been hired to advise Asciano.
