
It is reported that a Chinese miner is moving on plans for a Queensland mine that would target 7 million tonnes of thermal coal exports every year.
Shenhuo International Group a wholly owned unit of Henan Shenhuo Group plans to develop an open-cut operation and an underground mine at its Taroborah Project around 22 kilometer west of the town of Emerald.
Shenhuo proposals were recently published for public comment on the website of Australia Department of Sustainability, Environment, Water, Population and Communities. Shenhuo picked up the asset in a tender in 2006 and later proposed to spend at least USD 10 million on further exploration there.
