Government spokesperson Mr Jimmy Manyi said that cabinet has approved implementation plans for the minerals beneficiation strategy.

Mr Manyi said that its regular meeting, the executive approved implementation plans for both the iron and steel value chains, and energy commodities value chains.

Cabinet also approved the interdepartmental structure that would manage the process.

Mr Manyi said that pre empting questions on the issue, the minerals resources department would hold a press conference on the issue. He added that “So, all the details and intricacies around this matter will be discussed then. For now, we are just announcing the decision.”
