On February 4th 2011 both partner companies SUEK and Tenova TAKRAF signed a contract for the expansion and upgrading of the SUEK owned coal export terminal Vanino.

For the event of contract signing Mr Vladimir Rashevsky CEO SUEK - Siberian Coal Energy Company, Mr Vladimir Artemiev VP SUEK, Mr Sergey Grigoryev VP SUEK, Mr Walter Küng CEO TAKRAF GmbH and Mr. Nils Scharfenberg (VP Sales TAKRAF GmbH) met in Moscow on March 11th 2011.

The contract comprises the expansion of the terminal’s storage capacity by 230,000 tonne. The new equipment will have an operating capacity of 4,300 tonne per hour. Therefore, the already installed terminal equipment is as well to be upgraded to operate at a capacity of 4,300 tonne per hour in future.

With the coal export terminal upgrade and expansion our customer SUEK expects an increase of Vanino’s annual handling capacity from currently 12 million tonnes up to 24 million tonnes.

On March 3rd 2011 the Euler-Hermes Credit Insurance issued the provisional cover note for the Vanino II project. Thus, the sourcing of the project for the period of ten years after commissioning is assured.
