Its wholly owned Chinese subsidiary Asian American Coal Inc has reported that Shanxi Asian American Daning Energy Co Ltd in which AACI holds 56% has ordered the suspension of coal mining operations at Daning from December 31st 2010.

The company told the stock exchange this was because Daning's licence expired on that date and it is still in the process of getting an extension from the local coal authority.
