Thermal coal spot prices at Richards Bay index up 4.6%

Coal Insights Bureau reported that the spot price of coal for delivery within April 2009 in Richards Bay Index in the week ended on January 30th 2009 inched up by 4.61% to USD 76.08 per tonnes against the prices in the previous week.
According to GlobalCOAL Richards Bay index, the price on January 23rd 2009 was at USD 72.73 per tonnes.
