Tigers Realm Coal is new to the ASX, hitting the boards in August 2011 after a successful IPO which offered 75 million shares at $0.50, which are in addition to the existing 280 million shares on issue.

Tigers Realm has today increased its footprint in the emerging coal province in Chukotka, located in the Bering Coal Basin in far eastern Russia, through the 80% interest acquisition of the coking coal tenement known as Amaam North.

Importantly for the company, the deal includes tenements covering almost 480 square kilometres, increasing exposure in the basin to over 700 square kilometres.

Identifying the prospectivity of the tenements, it hosts multiple outcropping coal seams greater than a 2 metre true thickness, and importantly is strategically located 40 kilometres from the existing Beringovsky port.

Martin Grant, chief executive officer, commented: "Based on our current understanding of the deposit, we believe that Amaam North has the potential to significantly increase the scale of our coking coal resources in the region.”

Tigers Realm currently holds a 40% interest in the Amaam tenement and can earn up to 80% through the conversion of the exploration license to an exploration and exploitation license, and completion of a Bankable Feasibility Study.

The Amaam deposit comprises an Inferred Resource of 294 million tonnes of coking coal and an additional exploration target of 220 to 345 million tonnes. The central part of the Amaam deposit is located 30 kilometres from a proposed deep water port site on the Bering Sea coast.
