Interfax-Ukraine quoted the press service of the Trade Union of Coal Industry Workers of Ukraine reported that a 44 year-old miner and electric locomotive driver has been killed at the Zasiadko mine in Donetsk.

The accident happened at 15.40 on Sunday.

As engine drivers carried out shunting operations, the driver of an underground locomotive while standing in its control booth, struck his head against part of the gas exhaust system.

The miner died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

A special committee has been set up at the enterprise to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
