Venezuelan authorities said that they plan to tow a Greek cargo ship to port after a fire killed 9 crew members in the Caribbean.
Mr Rafael Lugo, commander of Venezuela's maritime support and rescue agency, said that the Aegean Wind will be taken to Margarita Island for repairs.
He added that 10 crew members and the bodies of the 9 dead are still on board because rough seas made it tricky to evacuate the vessel. Five others who suffered burns were airlifted out after the fire.
MV Aegean Wind was carrying more than 37,000 tonnes of iron ore from Brazil to Houston when the blaze broke out before dawn. The cause has not been determined.
Six of the dead were from the Philippines, and three were from Greece.
