
Dow Jones reported that Vietnam produced 4.137 million tonnes of coal in November 2011, up by 0.8% YoY.
The government's General Statistics Office said that coal output rose by 7.3% MoM as compared with October 2011.
In the January to November 2011 period, the country produced 39.853 million tonnes of coal, up by 2.3%.
Electricity output in November 2011 likely rose by 12.1% YoY to 8.6 billion kilowatt hours, while in October, Vietnam also produced 8.6 billion kilowatt hour. Vietnam produced 92.0 billion kilowatt hour in the first 11 months of the year, up by 10.0%.
The GSO usually issues coal and electricity figures before the end of the reporting period, based on estimates.
