WDS Limited's Energy and Infrastructure Division has been awarded a contract by the APA Group for the RBP Metro Looping Project. The project involves the installation of about 5.8 kilometers of DN400 steel pipeline through open trenching and horizontal directional drilling methods.

Work is scheduled to begin early in 2012 with construction expected to take around 21 weeks.

Earlier this week, WDS' Mining Division renewed its existing contract for the installation of secondary support at Xstrata Coal's Tahmoor Colliery for a further two years, which will net the company a further AUD 20 million in revenue.

The project involves the installation of secondary roof support in the mine's long wall gate roads in advance of the retreating long wall production unit.

WDS has been working for Xstrata Coal at Tahmoor Colliery since 2002. The project has not had a Recordable Injury for over 12 months.
