According to the Xinhua China Iron Ore Price Index issued by China's state owned Xinhua News Agency, the price index for 63.5% Fe content imported iron ore stood at 128 points on July 23rd 2012, down nine points week on week, while the price index for 58% grade imported iron ore was at 109 points, indicating a decrease of seven points week on week.

As of July 23rd 2012, inventory of iron ore at Chinese ports totaled 98.48 million tonnes, down by 220,000 tonnes on week on week basis.
