
China National Radio reported that coal deliveries from Hami, the main area transporting coal from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region to eastern China, boosted 41% on year to a total of 4.09 million tonnes in the first four months of 2011.
It said that of the total, coal shipment to provinces outside via railway amounted to 2.23 million tonnes and that via road to 1.76 million tonnes. Coal produced in Hami is expected to reach 19 million tonnes this year, with over 10 million tonnes coal carried out of the region.
