Coal delivery from western region Xinjiang remains low this year despite abundance of resources.
According to plans announced by the National Development & Reform Commission on April 29th 2011, the region is expected to sell 20 million tonnes to other provinces as compared with 2010's 16 million tonnes.
Top producers in the region Shenhua and Lu’an will delivery 8 million tonnes and 6 million tonnes respectively.
Xinjiang mined 20.46 million tonnes in Q1, an increase of 19.72% year on year. Of this, 4.2 million tonnes were shipped to neighboring provinces mainly Gansu, including 3.1 million tonnes by railing and 1.1 million tonnes by trucking.
