
Interfax Ukraine reported that 3 people were killed and eight poisoned from blast-furnace gas that built up following the stopping of a smoke scrubber at a boiler room at the thermal power department of the Illich Steel Mill at Mariupol in Donetsk region of Ukraine.
The press service of the Emergencies Ministry of Ukraine said the accident took place at 14.59 on February 5.
The smoke scrubber stopped due to a sudden power outage.
The work of the boiler room is suspended until the commission finds out the cause of the accident.
The Emergencies Ministry addressed the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine on the issue of investigating the poisoning and death of employees.
