Dow Jones cited Mr Grigory Khvorostyanov company head of strategy as saying that Russian carmaker OAO AvtoVAZ will open five new model lines from 2012, with three of the lines based on Renault SA and Nissan car platforms and two based on its own Kalina model.

He said that Renault and Nissan will be responsible for two thirds of the investment in the new lines.
