Azerbaijan Railways transports over 22 million tonnes of cargo in 2011

According to Mr Arif Asgarov Azerbaijan State Oil Company chairman, Azerbaijan Railways has transported 22.1 million tons of cargo in 2011.
He said that about 14.4 million tons were transported by railway last year. About 9.7 million tons fell to oil products. About 5.8 million tons fell to transit oil.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee about 22.2 million tons of cargo were transported by railway in 2010.
About 4.4 million tons of the total volume of transported goods fall to domestic freight, the export operations 4.4 million tons, the import operations 5.5 million tons and transit goods 7.8 million tons.
