According to the Council, the Tariff Council of Azerbaijan increased cost of oil transportation via oil pipelines up to AZM 6 per ton.
Earlier tariff amounted to AZM 2.6.
A new tariff, adopted based on the appeal of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan came into force from January1 2012.
The tariff increase is needed because the costs and investments in the pipeline system need to be aligned with these tariffs, in connection with the Baku-Novorossiisk oil pipeline transfer to the SOCAR office.
The Tariff Council said rise in prices of gasoline and diesel fuel prices in connection with tariff increase for oil transportation is not expected.
The Council said "SOCAR has not appealed to the Tariff Council to change tariffs of gasoline and diesel fuel."
