Belarus based Byelorussian Steel Works has stated that on August 17 this year its mill 150 produced its five millionth ton of wire rod. This output volume has been produced over a period of almost 12 years, since the two lines of the mill 320/150 became independent in September 2000.

In the first six years of the period in question the mill 150 produced 2 million tonnes of wire rod while in the second six-year period it produced 3 million tonnes. In 2007 a new ‘Morgan' block was installed at the mill and this increased productivity by 25% with the rolling speed increasing from 80 meter per second to 105 meter per second.

At present, the mill 150 can produce up to 568,000 tonnes of wire rod per year.
