The price of steel scrap 3A grade in "Byelorussian steel works" in range is USD 186 per tonne DAF for 1st decade of March. The prices have declined further by USD 20 per tonne to USD 25 per tonne to the levels of the 3rd decade of February.

Ruslom.ru has been informed that BMZ scrap consumption for 50% to 60 % supplied with steel scrap imported from Russia.

Byelorussian Steel Works consists of four main production facilities connected by a single processing chain, namely: steel melting, rolling, steel cord and wire production and pipe-rolling.

Steel-melting production includes a scrap preparation shop and two electric steel melting shops. Rolling production consists of a section rolling shop, which includes three rolling mills with different profiles.

In 2007 production capacities of the plant allowed to produce
1. Steel - over 2.21 million tonnes
2. Rolled products - over 1.80 million tonnes

In 2007 total sales proceeds exceeded USD 1.09 billion.
