Baku steel announced that within an agreement signed, Siemens VAI will replace the melting furnace for a more modern 50 tonne furnace.

As a result of reconstruction, at primary stage it is expected to increase capacity in the first section of the enterprise from current 350,000 tonnes up to 500,000 tonnes.

Due to investment it will also be reconstructed dust and smoke trapping units.

The new project will create conditions to increase plant’s capacity up to 1.1 million tonnes a year.
