Belarus Railways freight transport in 9 months up by 8.8pct YoY

It is reported that Belarus Railways transported 5.5 million tonnes of freight between January and September 2009. It is 8.8%YoY increase compared to 2008.
Given the flexible charging policy and the tight cooperation with the Polish Railways PKP, in September the company recorded a 186% increase of the transported volume of goods as compared to 2008, when the freight traffic amounted to 700,000 tonnes.
