
It is reported that Bogdan Corporation, one of the largest operators on the car market in Ukraine has won a tender to supply trolleybuses to Crimea and has signed a memorandum with the Council of Ministers of Crimea to start producing trolleybus in Simferopol.
The memorandum was signed by Mr Vasyl Dzharty Crimean Prime Minister and Mr Oleh Svynarchuk Bogdan Corporation President recently.
Mr Dzharty told journalists after the memorandum had been signed that Belarusian Belcommunmash and Lviv bus plant also participated in the tender to supply trolleybuses to Crimea.
He said that Bogdan Corporation agreed to the terms proposed by the government of Crimea, in particular, the creation of a joint venture to assembly trolleybuses in Crimea in order to create new jobs, as well as price acceptable for Crimea and guarantees of the assembly of high quality trolleybuses.
He added that this trolleybus is very comfortable, as I made sure of this by taking a trip in the vehicle. It has air conditioners, which is very important for Simferopol and other Crimean cities.
Mr Vasyl Dzharty said to realize this project Crimea is intending to use funds attracted as a result of issuing government domestic loan bonds worth UAH 400 million. The decision on the bond issue was made by the Supreme Council of Crimea on May 12th 2010.
