It is reported that Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of Russian mining and steel producing group Mechel has launched a new shearing press.

The shearing press is produced by Czech company Zdaz and is used for the cutting of oversize scrap. The company has invested RUB 145 million in the project.

After the commissioning of the new shearing press, the company will be able to increase the volume of the conditioned scrap for steelmaking and will provide mills with a charge mixture of optimal sizes.
