It is reported that CA Automotive, a structural unit of UkrAVTO Corporation and the official distributor of Chery cars in Ukraine, plans in 2012 to keep the share of the brand on the Ukrainian car market at last year's level while the growth of the car market is expected to be about 20%.

Mr Oleksandr Hanzha Company Director General said "If there are no fundamental changes on the market, we expect the growth of car sales this year to reach 20%, and want to keep the share of the car market at last year's level."

He said that Chery car sales in the first half of this year amounted to about 2,000 cars which is about 5% up on January to June 2011. He added that "Taking into account the introduction of new models, we're expecting more significant growth in car sales by the end of the year, but there are some concerns about changes in the political and economic situation in the country."

In particular, he said that currently the share of credit sales in the chain is 30%. He also said "If the situation changes, it could affect the retail work of banks, and consequently car sales."

Speaking about new models the company plans to bring to the Ukrainian market this year, he said that in addition to the updated Chery Tiggo cars, sales of which started in May, it is planned to introduce the new Amulet, M11 and Tiggo models with automatic transmission, as well as Chery E5 cars, the price of which will be determined shortly at the Stolychne Auto Show.
