
Reuters reported that Kazakhstan largest oil producer, Chevron led venture Tengizchevroil will produce 22.5 million tonnes of oil this year, up from 17.3 million tonnes in 2008.
Mr Duisenbai Turganov Deputy Energy Minister of Kazakhstan said "Tengizchevroil is expected to increase planned output from 21.5 million tonnes to 22.5 million tonnes."
Tengizchevroil owned by Chevron, ExxonMobil, LUKOIL and Kazakh state energy firm KazMunaiGas is developing the giant Tengiz oil field in Western Kazakhstan. It produced 10.2 million tonnes of oil in the H1 of this year.
