According to Mr Maksym Tymchenko CEO of the largest private vertically integrated energy holding in Ukraine, DTEK, the realization of a project for exports of electricity from Ukraine to the Baltic States through Belarus has been delayed due to large technical and legal obstacles although it is expected that in 2012 the project will start working.

He said that "We're actively working with our Belarusian partners. I hope that we'll find a formula that can be used for exports."

Mr Tymshenko said that for DTEK, the Baltic States remain an interesting region for exports of Ukrainian electricity.
