According to Mr Andriy Favorov Director of Power Trade Ltd, Ukraine largest private vertically integrated energy holding DTEK is planning to enter the electricity trade market in Germany.

He said that "We're interested in expanding our presence in neighbouring countries Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and the Czech Republic. We're paying special attention to the German market as it has the largest liquidity and demand."

He added that "Commenting on the exports to Europe, we mean electricity exports using interstate power transmission lines that join the Ukrainian power grid with Eastern Europe. In the future we could resell Ukrainian electricity to Western European consumers."

He added that currently the price of Ukrainian electricity on the European markets is competitive.

Mr Favorov said "The Ukrainian kilowatt per hour is competitive in its price on all of the markets where we work, so there is a high chance we'll be chosen as supplier of electricity. He also said that the company plans to start electricity exports to Russia, along with exports of Ukrainian electricity to Belarus and Moldova.”

He added that "We're actively working on the exports of electricity to Belarus and Moldova and are planning to start exporting electricity to Russia. He said that DTEK is planning to create a trader headquartered in Ukraine and a possibility to work and trade on all of the key European markets.”
