It is reported that a possibility to introduce duty on petroleum products to stimulate Ukrainian refineries is now studied by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

As Minister Mr Petro Poroshenko said a sharp decline in oil prices is observed now on world markets. However, no appropriate correction of prices is done at the domestic oil market. Therefore the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade is now considering a possibility to introduce duties on imports of petroleum products.
