
It is reported that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Ministry of Ukraine plan to draw up technical specifications for the realization of joint projects in the energy efficiency area.
Mr Anatoliy Blyzniuk Regional Development, Construction, housing and Utilities Minister said "We propose that the bank join in a number of specific projects, where its participation could bring priceless aid."
In turn, the initiator of the meeting Mr Terry McCallion director of the Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Department at the EBRD proposed that joint efforts be focused on improving the laws on homeowner associations so that they could receive targeted financing for energy efficiency measures, as well as jointly draw up a mechanism for financial cooperation in concrete projects.
The EBRD is the largest financial investor in Ukraine. To date, the bank has committed over EUR 7.4 billion through 293 projects.
