
Ukrainian News Agency reported that Gazprom and Naftohaz Ukrainy have signed an addendum to their existing gas contract that allows Naftohaz Ukrainy to pay for Russian gas deliveries in Russian rubles.
The addendum to the contract was signed on Monday after a working meeting between Gazprom's Chairman Mr Alexey Miller and Ukraine's Minister of Energy and the Coal Industry Mr Yurii Boiko.
Mr Miller and Mr Boiko also discussed bilateral cooperation, noting the fruitfulness of the ongoing dialogue.
According to the statement, the negotiations on the terms of supply of Russian gas to Ukraine could be completed before the end of 2011.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Naftohaz Ukrainy presently pays for Russian gas deliveries in dollars.
Russian gas supplies to Ukraine totaled 32,500,866,500 cubic meters worth USD 9,368,914,800 in the first nine months of this year.
