
Itar-Tass reported that Russia natural gas industry giant Gazprom and the multinational corporation Siemens AG have signed an agreement on strategic partnership.
The document envisions joint projects in the areas like transportation, underground storage and utilization of natural gas, production of gas, condensate and crude oil, production of liquefied natural gas, automation and metrology, electric engineering, innovative development, automation and security systems for buildings and installations, ecology, energy saving, and medical technologies.
The two sides also agreed to develop all the aspects of strategic cooperation in R & D, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and servicing in the energy sector. The agreement carries the signatures of Gazprom CEO Mr Alexei Miller and Siemens President Mr Peter Loescher.
At present, the two giants of industry are developing cooperative relations in a range of areas including innovative development, information, digitalization, telematics, power generating equipment, compressor plants equipment, technologies for developing marine oil and gas deposits, security systems for buildings and installations, energy saving and ecology, novel medical technologies and project financing.
Gazprom and Siemens signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas in 2010.
