Ria Novosti reported that Russian gas monopoly Gazprom confirmed recently that it had been paid in full by Ukrainian energy company Naftogaz for natural gas supplied in November.
A Gazprom spokesman said "Naftogaz has paid in full for November gas supplies."
Naftogaz said earlier on Friday it had paid USD 770 million for gas supplied last month.
Gas dealings between the two ex-Soviet states have been closely followed in Europe after a dispute between Moscow and Kiev at the turn of the year left millions of Europeans without gas in January when Russia briefly cut off supplies to and transits through Ukraine.
Naftogaz has pledged further payments to provide Ukrainian consumers with enough gas and ensure continuous transit to the European Union despite a domestic economic crisis.
Ukraine transits around 80% of Russia Europe-bound gas.
