Russian gas major Gazprom OAO announced that it is willing to export 142 billion cubic metres to Europe in 2009 down from 184.4 bcm in 2008 with revenues from exports decreasing to USD 40 billion from USD 65 billion.

OAO Gazprom is an exporter of gas to European countries whereas it is also engaged in oil production, refining activities and electricity generation.

It anticipates gas demand to surge in Europe starting from April 2009 rejecting prior accusations that rigid pricing is to blame for a 40% fall in export sales in 2009.
