The audit process of flat steel production was held at the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works carried out by Spanish company Gonvarri, representing the interests of Volkswagen AG.

Technical audit of flat steel production was the result of Mr Victor Rashnikov President of MMK Management Company visit to Gonvarri plant located in Spain. As a result of this visit, specialists of Gonvarri conducted an audit of products and production process of hot galvanized steel in MMK, JSC. Over the two days of the Gonvarri experts studied the entire hot IMC galvanized sheet metal production chain.

During the audit process issues like organization of the input control for materials, quality control and packaging of hot galvanized steel were examined. A special attention was paid to the laboratory located in surfaces plant. Gonvarri experts gave a high valuation to the equipped laboratories and professionalism of its employees.

The external production audit process of flat rolled steel was held by Gonvarri specialists within the framework of acceptance of MMK‘s metal for the Russian and foreign auto manufacturers. In accordance with the acceptance program, the work mode for the approval of the technical processes and products of MMK, JSC for the world leaders of automotive industry has started.

Mr Boris Dubrovsky Director General of MMK said “A serious work to be done by MMK: agreement, acceptance and certification of products from foreign automakers. Implementation of this program will allow us to increase the supply of metal products for the automobile industry, and as for our partners they will be able to carry out a deeper localization of production and reduce their costs.”
