
It is reported that in 2011, the steelmaking subsidiaries of Ukrainian steel producer Industrial Union of Donbass produced a total of 6.494 million tonnes of pig iron up by 25%YoY.
The subsidiaries crude steel output in the given period increased by 23%YoY rising to 6.971 million tonnes, they registered a 26% increase in their finished steel production YoY to 6.647 million tonnes while their agglomerate output went up by 15%YoY to 9.831 million tonnes.
In particular, in 2011 Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works saw a 30% increase in its crude steel production to 3.773 million tonnes and a 36% increase in its finished steel production to 3.639 million tonnes.
The crude steel output of Dneprovsky Iron and Steel Works named after F. Dzerzhinsky in the given period increased by 16%YoY to 3.198 million tonnes while its finished steel output increased by 16%YoY to 3.008 million tonnes.
Alchevsk Coking Plant saw its coke production rise by 3%YoY to 3.021 million tonnes in 2011. In the given year, Dniepropetrovsk Tube Works increased its steel pipe production by 27%YoY to 102,100 tonnes.
