
RIA Novosti citing Mr Jitin Prasada Indian Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister as saying that India remains interested in Russia's Sakhalin 3 gas project and will hold talks on Monday with Gazprom on participating in it.
He said that "We are interested in participation in the Sakhalin-3 project."
In July, Mr Viktor Timoshilov head of Gazprom eastern projects said that the company did not plan to invite foreign companies to take part in the Sakhalin-3 project.
Sakhalin-3's gas reserves are estimated at nearly 1.4 trillion cubic meters. The site gas will be supplied to the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transportation system.
