Inprom has announced that Novonoronezh Nuclear Power Plant is being built ab initio under "Federal Target Program for Developing the Nuclear Energy Industrial Complex of Russia for 2007 to 2010 and for the Period till 2015".

The project has entered the active phase of installation and construction work at reactor 2. NNPP's project is innovative it fits all safety requirements and European standards. A total of RUB 130 billion in state financing have been allocated for the project and the funds must be used most effectively.
