
According to the State Statistics Committee of Kazakhstan, in the January to June period of the current year Kazakhstan produced 1.987 million tonnes of crude steel down by 20.4%YoY. In June alone, the country produced 341,800 tonnes of crude steel up by 18.8%MoM.
Production of flat steel in Kazakhstan in the first half of this year decreased by 11.4% to 1.457 million tonnes while domestic production of galvanized rolled steel in this period declined by 11.7% to 273,600 tonnes both YoY.
In the first six months of 2012, Kazakhstan saw its ferroalloy production rise by 0.3%YoY to 844,800 tonnes.
