It is reported that in August this year, Moldova based Moldavian Metallurgical Works plans to ship around 15,000 tonnes to 16,000 tonnes of reinforcing bar to Russia practically half the volume shipped to Russia in July this year. The remaining output volume will be shipped to Ukraine and to the Moldovan domestic market.
MMZ plans to cut its reinforcing steel output to 25,000 tonnes to 26,000 tonnes in August compared to 38,000 tonnes in July.
MMZ has decided to cut its reinforcing steel production and to increase its wire rod production due to the latter's greater cost effectiveness at the present time. Thus, MMZ plans to produce 20,000 tonnes to 21,000 tonnes of wire rods in August against 15,000 tonnes in July.
In particular, 2,000 tonnes to 4,000 tonnes of wire rod will be shipped to Russia, Ukraine and Moldova with the remaining 17,000 tonnes to 18,000 tonnes going to other countries.
